People usually meet in business networking meetings and functions. These functions have a lot to offer those in search of networking and making new contacts and connections. Business events prove to be an effective platform to start new relationship. You cannot make a long lasting and strong relation at a business meeting. The reason is because business events have very distracting environments for the relationships to be built. People meeting with each other and having gossips, food is being served and presentations or something of entertainments is going on in parallel with each other.

So these events do not offer you the best place to have practically personal connection. You just meet other people for some moments and get apart. After the first meeting at these events people tend o follow up the relation and try to be the first to contact the other party. They send personalized follow up messages to show a willingness and pleasure to continue the relation. But it is not necessary that all of them will respond to your follow up messages. All the people are not ready to reciprocate and give the same response in return. There could be any reason behind this. But the thing is, they do not see something of great value in cherishing the relation. So the point is that you should follow up and make certain attempts. But do not try more than three times. Use at least two different tools to send your message to the person. If the person does not respond let the time pass. These kinds of opportunities will come again and again in life. So don?t worry and be positive.

Persistence and determination are said to be the foundation and the winning points in business networking. It is usually said that have patience and be persistent in following up the people after the initial meeting. But a point comes when this persistent and continuous follow up converts in to a reason of irritation and annoyance for the recipient. Put yourself in the other person?s place and jut think of how many times you can bear someone following you up and trying to contact you continuously. Once your follow up becomes the reason of irritation, you created a very wrong image which is impossible to correct now. So do not be stalker and do not be hungry for networking. Getting to know someone takes enough time and people trust only those whom they know. This approach tells integrity and it speaks about patience.

Don?t lie and be genuine. Remember that networking is all about building long lasting relationships. And people build relationship with those people, they trust. So be genuine in stating or reflecting your desired outcomes and your strengths. Don?t lie about yourself. Trust is the pillar on which any relationship stands. So always remember the value of trust in business networking.

Don?t conjecture for a job. Don?t just think of the profits of networking to pay you quickly but also think about the people.
