Lonely Planet Guatemala: an overview

When my family and I visited Guatemala a couple of years, we have two leaders in this land of beauty and charm of Central America. One of them was the Lonely Planet Guatemala, and it turned out to be what we more often.

When the first Lonely Planet travel guide were written, they were publishers are more price-conscious travelers than the more wealthy tourists willing to make travel backpackers and directly. This spirit ofstill permeates independent adventure travel series Lonely Planet, but most of her books, including this, you are ambitious and comprehensive that it may be useful to anyone at any age or budget, the country wants to know in.

Most readers of Guatemala is repeated browsing the chapters on specific regions and cities in search of accommodation and restaurant recommendations or check ticket prices and opening times for museums and otherAttractions. Back in the hotel room, though, or return home after the trip, you probably have individual sections on the history and culture of the country and the people I met there. These sections are good background, without in textbook-ese written to give depth and a visit to Guatemala.

Lonely Planet Guatemala is full of the necessary documents, plans of city and town road to be particularly useful. A nice selection ofColor photos help the vitality of Guatemala and its vibrant culture of life.

True to its roots backpackers book contains many great routes both in and around cities such as volcanoes and mountains, through jungle and around the lakes. Outdoor activities usually have a good deal of attention in this guide.

There are sections on the essential points of reference, such as exchanging money, finding a doctor with the phone system, and so on. And there aredue attention to what the book like a "nuisance" ? such as being robbed or down with a tropical fever. The authors are careful to note areas considered unsafe because of crime or other dangers, but whether to avoid them for the reader to those areas, knowing the risks.

Guatemala has been written by John Noble and Susan Forsyth, both experienced travelers in Central America.
