Want to participate in the most exciting part of the education revolution?
You can this week as universities, schools, educators and students around the world are celebrating Open Education Week
We all hear about it but most people don't know much more about it than the name. Well, this coming week is a time to learn as we celebrate the tenth anniversary of Open Education.
The focus is on Open Education Resources (OER) licensed with Creative Commons open licenses and available for anyone to use, reuse, share, and remix.
It features over 40 webinars, presentations, discussions, resource links and local workshops.
What does Open Education Week mean for you? It means new resources you probably never knew about that are great for teachers, students, or anyone who wants to learn.
One of the most famous OER website is the Khan Academy with over 2000 videos free and easy to use on everything from math to art.
Another is MIT Open Courseware
Another is the amazing open textbook project CK12 Flexbooks that has beautiful textbooks schools can use for free in a variety of subject areas.
Here are some of the projects featured this week can be found on this website.
Check out some of these OER websites and get excited about what you can learn for free.
